Percussion and Guitar
I have been playing and performing music since I was three years old. My study of musical performance culminated with a bachelor of music degree from the University of Alberta where I majored in classical guitar and completed a second study in percussion.
Instrumental Music
While completing my bachelor of education degree I focused on instrumental music, conducting, and band administration. I found a natural affinity for conducting and an avenue to spread my love of music.
Science
My university career began with two years towards a bachelor of science degree which transfered to a minor in chemistry for my bachelor of education degree. My love of science and scientific discovery is fueled by my interest in defining how we interact with and experience the world around us.
Chemistry & Physics
My first two years at the University of Alberta were filled with a plethora of general science courses but my passions always stayed focused on the physical sciences.
Technology Focused
I am driven to continually broaden my understanding of available technologies and how they apply to education. I am compelled and challenged to find new ways to communicate, connect, and inspire learning through the innumerable channels available.
Photography
During the quiet times or family gatherings I enjoy testing my creativity with photography and videography. After many hours of personal study, I take pride in educating others about the intrinsic beauty and power of exposure, depth of field, composition, light, and technology (also-known-as photography).

Voice and Choral Music
Extensive performance and pedagogy training as part of my Music (Voice) degree from the University of Alberta. I run a private studio and am contracted to work with various groups in the community.
Drama
Drama is one of the biggest teams in the school and I believe it teaches students valuable confidence and communication skills in a fun and creative environment. The process of building a show and presenting it to an audience is one of the most rewarding experiences I have had as a teacher.
Musical Theatre
As an actor, singer, orchestra member, costume designer, and set painter, I have been personally involved in eight shows and as a teacher I have had my hand in the production of three shows. I want to share my love for Musical Theatre with my students!
Elementary Music
I feel very comfortable in the elementary music room and continually research and concern myself with finding the best methods to instill the love of music for our future generations.
Orff Certification- Level I
Orff is a method of teaching music to children that combines singing, movement, playing instruments, creating and composing, and listening, to develop a well-rounded musician. Additional information can be found here.
Cooking
A personal interest and hobby of mine I would love to share with students.

International Teaching Couple

Teaching overseas is a dream we have shared together for many years. It has always been our goal to expand our experiences and work in a new environment. Traveling has become a passion for us and we love to explore new places and see new ways of life. We have had the privilege to spend time in 12 different countries and with each traveling opportunity, our minds are opened to different ways of thinking about our World.

Traveling is a means for growth; as a couple, personally, and professionally. Our experiences translate into the classroom and our desire is to see our students become global citizens. With a year of experience under our belts, we feel that right now is the perfect time to take this new step in our lives!
